Fresh/Hot/Fast: Latest from ABS-CBN Manila

By December this year, expect TV Patrol World's Karen Davila to have an advance Christmas break from the flagship ABS-CBN newscast and her other programs on ABS-CBN Manila. The reason: she will go on maternity leave.

Yes, she's 7 weeks pregnant. She broke the news herself yesterday on her daily afternoon talk show Pasada 630 (over nationwide-heard DZMM Radio Patrol 630KHZ AM Band). That's her reply to her Pasada co-host, Vic de Leon Lima, as to "Why are you wearing flat shoes? Can't you wear high heels?"

Karen (wife of DJ Sta. Ana, also a news personnel in ABS-CBN) is concerned though of the health problems she might experience in the duration of her pregnancy. She recounts of her medical history-that includes problems with her throat and thyroid years back, as she takes extreme caution on her health and her baby's health. She will be bearing a child the second time after David Joshua, who is 5 years old now. She asks for prayers from the listeners
and the Kapamilyas for her healthy delivery and for the baby's health.

Rumors have it that once Karen goes on maternity leave starting December, it is sensed that other lady newscasters will take her place temporarily on TV Patrol World-among them Bernadette Sembrano, Pinky Webb, Ces Drilon or even Korina Sanchez.

With Karen adding another Kapamilya in her home, it's a Deal.

Reports have it that Magandang Umaga Pilipinas will air its last edition this June 22 (a Friday) to make way for ABS-CBN's newest morning news-variety show Ang Ganda ng Umaga, as announced recently by MUP's main hosts Julius Babao and Christine Bersola over their weekend morning radio talk show Magandang Morning with Julius and Tintin on DZMM.

Headlined by Edu Manzano, Donita Rose and Rica Peralejo, the new show (reportedly to air June 25) will still have MUP's current hosts like Bernadette Sembrano, Kim Atienza and Anthony Taberna. Still to be confirmed are the inclusion of Pokwang and Pinky Webb in the new show.

The viewers are hereby advised to watch out for further developments on whether or not MUP will be replaced by this June.

With the irreplacable MUP replaced, I can say No Deal.

At last, the Disney made-for-TV movie High School Musical is here in the Philippines for another time. After being shown on the pan-Asian station of the Disney Channel (seen in the Philippines), it's the turn of ABS-CBN via Studio 23 to air this special Disney movie focused on the high school journey of basketball player Troy (Zack Efron) and honor student Gabriella (Vanessa Ann Hudgens). The Kapamilya-Kabarkada airing of Disney's High School
Musical will be this June 16, Saturday @ 9:30pm over Studio 23.

Now that's a Deal!
=======
Finally, Kris Aquino is back on Philippine TV and ABS-CBN. So is Mister Banker and the 26K gals! Not to mention are the players (including the celebrity participants, among them reportedly Ruffa Gutierrez) and the town-to-town settings from Cebu to Davao and from Baguio to Naga and wherelse, as the show will go nationwide to bring it closer to the nationwide viewers who made it the number 1 game show in the country (as evidenced in AGB-NMR NUTAM charts-read: nationwide ratings charts-last January to February).

Now that's a done Deal! Kapamilya Deal or No Deal will be back this June 11, 7:30pm, after TV Patrol World.

Re: MUP, totoo po yan! An ABS morning show without julius and tintin seems like whoa, ang hirap isipin! NO DEAL nga!!

Kung ilalagay nila yang mga bagong yan, gawin na lang nila parang Breakfast ang show na yan. the name doesn't sound good, compared to MUP, and Alas Singko Y Medya.

I hate this. pahirapan pa rin sa morning show!
