Since its 1st season, Kapamilya Deal and No Deal has been a favorite for viewers in PH (thus the inspiration of this blog). And since 2006, it has come and gone into various TV seasons. And starting Monday, February 9, the game show will be back at 5:00pm in ABS-CBN Manila with special daytime slot on ABS-CBN Regional TV Stations.
For now, here is a Throwback Thursday for Deal or No Deal.

Fresh/Hot/Fast: Soon - Kapamilya Deal or No Deal
Though Kris Aquino may be sad due to the illness of her mom (People Power icon and former RP Prez Cory Aquino) and her pregnancy-that was not meant to be...She will smile once again...Deal or No Deal will be back. She will host the game again for sure. Why the sudden revival? It's the Philippine visit of the American version of Deal or No Deal (hosted by NBC's Howie Mandel) this summer! For more, read here: ABS-CBN Forums, Google Cache of ABS-CBN Forums, TV Craze Blog. Wow, now that's a real Deal!

Fresh/Hot/Fast: Si Kuya, Nagpaliwanag Na! ABS-CBN Kapamilya, Nagsalita Na!
With all the recent controversies surrounding the last days of the 2nd year of Pinoy Big Brother (yes, Alam Mo Na Yan: the controversial exits of Housemates Nel and Bruce plus the retention of Housemate Wendy, the widely circulated electronic message of an ABS-CBN Manila employee who resigned from the network the moment he posted this statement, and the anti-PBB EDSA-type "Oplan Kamatis"), Kuya explains his side, along with the people in ABS-CBN, as he goes in full gear for this Saturday-the final day of the "first real-life drama series in Philippine TV" courtesy of our Dutch friends.
- Nel Out, Wendy In Last Weekend: CNET
- Bruce Out, Wendy In Last Tuesday: PEP
- ABS-CBN Employee Resigns, Posts a Statement: Multiply Entry 1, Multiply Entry 2
- Anti-PBB/ABS-CBN EDSA Revolt-Type Action Oplan Kamatis in the Works: Multiply
- ABS-CBN's Official Statement on the PBB Season 2 Voting Results: ABS-CBN, Kuya @ ABS-CBN
- PBB Voting Not Tampered--ABS-CBN People: ABS-CBN
- Kuya Answers Former ABS-CBN Employee's Statement: ABS-CBN, Kuya @ ABS-CBN
- Special Edition of PBB Last Wednesday: ABS-CBN
- Kuya Prepares for the Finale: ABS-CBN
With ABS-CBN and Kuya explaining their side, I give them the benefit of the doubt for now. With the much-hated housemate still in the house, it's No Deal; I will only say DEAL iff (if and only if) it's Wendy Resign (ala-Erap Resign/Gloria Resign) this Thursday (June 28).

Fresh/Hot/Fast: Latest from ABS-CBN Manila
By December this year, expect TV Patrol World's Karen Davila to have an advance Christmas break from the flagship ABS-CBN newscast and her other programs on ABS-CBN Manila. The reason: she will go on maternity leave.
Yes, she's 7 weeks pregnant. She broke the news herself yesterday on her daily afternoon talk show Pasada 630 (over nationwide-heard DZMM Radio Patrol 630KHZ AM Band). That's her reply to her Pasada co-host, Vic de Leon Lima, as to "Why are you wearing flat shoes? Can't you wear high heels?"
Karen (wife of DJ Sta. Ana, also a news personnel in ABS-CBN) is concerned though of the health problems she might experience in the duration of her pregnancy. She recounts of her medical history-that includes problems with her throat and thyroid years back, as she takes extreme caution on her health and her baby's health. She will be bearing a child the second time after David Joshua, who is 5 years old now. She asks for prayers from the listeners
and the Kapamilyas for her healthy delivery and for the baby's health.
Rumors have it that once Karen goes on maternity leave starting December, it is sensed that other lady newscasters will take her place temporarily on TV Patrol World-among them Bernadette Sembrano, Pinky Webb, Ces Drilon or even Korina Sanchez.
With Karen adding another Kapamilya in her home, it's a Deal.

Reports have it that Magandang Umaga Pilipinas will air its last edition this June 22 (a Friday) to make way for ABS-CBN's newest morning news-variety show Ang Ganda ng Umaga, as announced recently by MUP's main hosts Julius Babao and Christine Bersola over their weekend morning radio talk show Magandang Morning with Julius and Tintin on DZMM.
Headlined by Edu Manzano, Donita Rose and Rica Peralejo, the new show (reportedly to air June 25) will still have MUP's current hosts like Bernadette Sembrano, Kim Atienza and Anthony Taberna. Still to be confirmed are the inclusion of Pokwang and Pinky Webb in the new show.
The viewers are hereby advised to watch out for further developments on whether or not MUP will be replaced by this June.
With the irreplacable MUP replaced, I can say No Deal.

At last, the Disney made-for-TV movie High School Musical is here in the Philippines for another time. After being shown on the pan-Asian station of the Disney Channel (seen in the Philippines), it's the turn of ABS-CBN via Studio 23 to air this special Disney movie focused on the high school journey of basketball player Troy (Zack Efron) and honor student Gabriella (Vanessa Ann Hudgens). The Kapamilya-Kabarkada airing of Disney's High School
Musical will be this June 16, Saturday @ 9:30pm over Studio 23.
Now that's a Deal!

Finally, Kris Aquino is back on Philippine TV and ABS-CBN. So is Mister Banker and the 26K gals! Not to mention are the players (including the celebrity participants, among them reportedly Ruffa Gutierrez) and the town-to-town settings from Cebu to Davao and from Baguio to Naga and wherelse, as the show will go nationwide to bring it closer to the nationwide viewers who made it the number 1 game show in the country (as evidenced in AGB-NMR NUTAM charts-read: nationwide ratings charts-last January to February).
Now that's a done Deal! Kapamilya Deal or No Deal will be back this June 11, 7:30pm, after TV Patrol World.

My Piece of Dessert: Kapamilya Deal or No Deal
With the demise of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal due to host Kris Aquino taking a rest due to her delicate pregnancy courtesy of equally-controversial basketball player-husband James Yap (don't even ask me why), I miss a game show I like to watch daily. I first knew the show as a spin-off from the worldwide game show Deal or No Deal that has gotten people tuning in from New York to Mumbai and Madrid.
I admit, I miss it most of the time as I have to travel home from school-work (yes, I am a working student) all the way from La Salle in Taft Avenue in Manila to quiet downtown Paranaque City. But I have to say that the show did something good for me and for some, with Kris' bubbliness (that can make you smile or frown), the gorgeous 26K (whose names I have problems memorizing with-blame it on lack of peanuts in my digestive system), the ever-mysterious Mister Banker and the elusive Php 4Million Prize.
That show sown me inspiration as I was building this blog. Incidentally, a few days back, I find myself playing the PC game version of DOND. In that game, I struck a 5-digit dollar deal-which is a good decision, since I picked a briefcase with a 4-digit dollar amount.
Well, I will be saying Deal if Kris fulfills the promise of having KDOND back by June or July. (By this time, I pray Kris and James are A-OK.)
